This weekend, we hear the familiar story of Jesus' post-resurrection encounter with Thomas, who missed the first appearance. Thomas may be more like us folks than we care to imagine. Thomas was a human being like us. We human beings like to know what to expect. Sometimes we don't like surprises. Sometimes we'd like to remain in our own world made up of expectations and experiences.
But sometimes we need surprises in our lives. Sometimes the surprises in our lives prove to be the "yeast" in the flour of our lives that helps us grow and develop.
Let's pray with Thomas and all the saints, that the "surprises" the Lord sends us this week will help us to grow and develop into better disciples of the Risen Lord.
Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!
