The Book of Names

This image of Cardinal Sean O'Malley from Boston, holding the "Book of Names" that was presented to Pope Benedict on his recent visit to the United States, shows the wonderful book that was presented to the Holy Father.

The book, which contains the first names of the victims of Clergy sexual abuse, from the area of the Archdiocese of Boston, was presented to the Pope as he met with 5 of the survivors in a private meeting in Washington, DC, during his recent visit.

My friend, Fr. Jim Martin, SJ recently commented on "The Colbert Report": The most important meeting the Pope had was the least public. He was, of course referring to the private meeting with the victims of clergy sexual abuse that was set up by Cardinal O'Malley, and the staff of the Archdiocese of Boston.
